Atlus Announces Persona 5 and Persona 3 Dancing Games, Set to Release in 2018
Looks like Persona characters won’t be getting any rest from dancing all night.
Atlus and P Studio is set to release new spinoff titles for the Persona franchise, which includes two rhythm game spinoffs that belong to different titles, as reported by Gamespot. Persona 3 and Persona 5 has entered the rhythm platform, same as what Persona 4 did before them.
Persona 5: Dancing Star Night will feature music and characters from the latest installment of the Persona series. In the trailer below, Morgana shouts “It’s Showtime” and introduces the characters of the game. As Morgana shouts their names, you’ll see the protagonist, Joker, along with Ryuji, Ann, and Makoto dancing in familiar locations in Persona 5, such as the Station Square in Shibuya and one of the early Palaces.
On the other hand, Persona 3: Dancing Moon Night offers the same as Persona 3. On the trailer below, Persona 3’s party members are dancing to the beat, showing the male protagonist, together with Junpei, Yukari, and Aigis. Again, there are locations from the Persona 3 game, such as the school rooftop and Paulownia Mall, found in this spinoff.
Both games, Persona 5: Dancing Star Night and Persona 3: Dancing Moon Night will be available for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. The two games are expected to release simultaneously in Japan in Spring 2018, but no news yet for a western release. According to Polygon, the two rhythm games are being developed by lead staff of Persona 4: Dancing All Night, which was released in 2015 for the PlayStation Vita.
Moreover, a Japanese teaser website has been launched. However, the website only shows the art of protagonists in both games, release date, two trailers, social media sharing functions for Twitter, Facebook, and Line, a link to the official Twitter account of the franchise, and this message: “Please Wait for Next Information!”
But the fun does not stop there, Atlus also announced another spinoff, teasing there will be a sequel to the dungeon crawler Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth, which featured characters from Persona 3 and Persona 4 and was released in 2014. Same as its predecessor, Persona Q2 will be coming to the Nintendo 3DS and is likely to feature Persona 5 characters. Moreover, there is not much information revealed for the new Persona Q game on its website.
