The Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov feud is turning ugly and personal.
As per TMZ, the Irishman posted a series of infuriated tweets directed at his rival, and said among other things, “Don’t be scared of the rematch you little scurrying rat.”
He then followed it up with an ugly follow-through, and called Khabib’s wife, who is a muslim, “a towel.”
In the tweet that contains two photos, one, an image of Khabib and his wife in a ceremony, and the other, a photo of a towel.
Of course, the Russian fighter did not take this lightly, and tweeted a brutal response to McGregor, as per MMAFighting.com.
He tweeted, “Rapist, you are Rapist.” He then followed it up with a telling warning, and said, “You are a hypocrite who is not responsible for your actions. Justice will find you. We will see.”
Even Khabib’s manager responded to the former two-division champion, and tweeted, “Talking sh*t, this guy is insulting someone’s wife and making fun of her religion and belief. He doesn’t realize he’s insulting 1.5 billon Muslims. Religion and family is a no no. You’re fucked Connor, let’s see what the media is going to say now. He’s a rapist, and a bitch.”

Coming Out of Retirement
Just a week ago, McGregor tweeted that he is retiring from the sport, but with this apparent call out to his rival who defeated him last year, it’s all but confirmed that he is coming back.
In fact, he even posted a rather telling tweet and said, “I want to move forward, with my fans of all faiths and all backgrounds. All faiths challenge us to be our best selves. It is one world and one for all. Now see you in the Octagon.”

Response from the UFC
UFC President Dana White released a statement, acknowledging the ugly feud between his two fighters.
He mentioned that the fighting promotion have already contacted both parties, and told them to tone down the insults.
He said in a statement at MMA Junkie, “I am aware of the recent social media exchange between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor. The ongoing situation has escalated to a level that is not acceptable. As such, we are taking the necessary steps to reach out to both athlete camps, and this situation is being addressed by all parties internally.”
The UFC has a Code of Conduct existing, but is enforced only a handful of times.
Notable fighters hit with these are former McGregor foe Nate Diaz for saying a homophobic slur, and current UFC champion Jon “Bones” Jones for hitting a pregnant woman with a car, which resulted into a broken arm.
