In what’s otherwise a rather strange collaboration, adidas and “Dragon Ball Z” unveiled the fruit of their team up and gave both fans of the brands a glimpse of the sneakers to come.

According to High Snobiety, the adidas collab unveiled the “Kamanda” decked out in a Majn Buu theme. The shoe featured a pink suede leather upper, purple lace, and a yellow-green accent on the heel tab – all consistent with the Buu theme.

Just a couple of days back, the sneaker company first unveiled the adidas Yung-1 Frieza, as well as well as the adidas Prophere Cell. And just like the Kamanda, the Yung-1 and the Prophere are all consistent with their respective “Dragon Ball Z” characters, as noted by Sole Collector.

Sources indicated that all in all, a total of seven sneakers will be released as the product of this rather, unique collaboration. Among the rumored characters that will receive their own sneaker, are Mr. Popo, Yajirobe, Tenshinhan and a fan-favorite, Mr. Satan.

So far, that’s about what’s rumored to be releasing, though it’s interesting to note that it’s a bit strange that apart from the villains, main characters such as Goku, Vegeta, Picollo or even Krilin seem to be absent from the line-up.

But perhaps, these seven “Dragon Ball Z” inspired adidas sneakers are just phase one of this interesting collaboration.

The collaboration between the two brands may come as a shock to some, but when if we really think hard, it’s not at all surprising, as adidas is known to push boundaries when it comes to collaboration and/or working with other talent in creating fresh new products.

While most of their competitors are busy teaming up with athletes and other sports personalities, it was adidas who was one of the early pioneers of teaming up with musicians such as their Superstar sneaker and rap group Run D.M.C.

Today, the German sports brand has collaborated with numerous personalities ranging from high-end fashion designers, to other music artists. And now, with the adidas x “Dragon Ball Z” collaboration on its way, who knows if a “Naruto” team-up comes next.
