Prince Harry to Marry Meghan Markle Next Year
Touted as the most eligible bachelor, flame-haired grandson of Queen Elizabeth II, familiarly known as Prince Harry is now off the market. According to reports, he popped the question to American actress Meghan Markle during their roast chicken dinner at home.
Prince Harry described it as a romantic proposal, while Ms Markle expressed her joy with words, “so very happy, thank you,” as they smiled during their appearance for the press at the Kensington Sunken Garden. When asked by a reporter if the Prince knew Ms Markle “was the one,” he answered: “The very first time we met”.
ABC News reported the ring was designed by Prince Harry, which included three stunning diamonds. The centre stone is from Botswana, a country that is close to the couple’s hearts, while the two diamonds came from the late Princess Diana’s personal collection.
According to a statement released by the Clarence House social media account, His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales is “delighted to announce the engagement.” The statement also revealed the couple will have their wedding in Spring 2018 and will live in the Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace.
The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh were also “delighted for the couple and wish them every happiness”, a Buckingham Palace spokesman said.
Meanwhile, Markle’s Suits co-stars were quick enough to bring to social media their congratulations.
Patrick J Admas, who plays Markle’s fiancé in the series, said: “She said she was just going out to get some milk…”, while Wendell Pierce, who played as her on-screen father, gave his approval: “Congratulations to my TV daughter Meghan Markle and Prince Harry on the news of their wedding engagement. Harry you have her TV Father’s blessing. Robert Zane approves.”

British News media revealed that Prince Harry and Ms Markle are expected to have the title of Duke and Duchess of Sussex after marriage, but the actress can still be known informally as Princess Meghan. But, in the case wherein the Prince declines the dukedom, he will stay as Prince Henry of Wales.
The prince, 33, and Ms Markle, 36, met from a blind date through mutual friends and started dating in the summer of 2016. Prince Harry told BBC that “beautiful” Ms Markle “just tripped and fell into my life.” He even said that his fiancée and late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, would have been “thick as thieves… best friends”.
