MCU Fantastic Four & X-Men

Three weeks ago, the Marvel fandom reached a whole new level of interest when news broke out that Disney and 20th Century FOX were working on a deal where Disney can purchase back the rights of several Marvel properties under the FOX studios – namely, the X-Men and Fantastic Four. Just when the anticipation was boiling up, the deal was called off – therefore dousing the lingering hope of unifying Marvel properties under one cinematic universe.

Now, news from CNBC stated that the negotiation table has been re-opened between Disney and FOX where a new deal could be announced next week.

Walt Disney Co. and 21st Century Fox are closing in on a deal and it could come as soon as next week, according to sources familiar with the matter.

By acquiring several assets of 20th Century Fox, Disney not only welcomes back several iconic Marvel properties under one corporate studio umbrella but will also acquire television production assets, including Fox’s A&E, Star, regional sports networks, movie studios and stakes in Sky and Hulu.

According to the report, FOX will still keep their news, sports and business intact.

With the news of the buyout negotiation, stock prices of FOX climbed as CNBC estimates that FOX’s assets are valuated to be at $60 billion.

With the release of the Infinity War trailer and a reported 20 movie slate is being prepared by Marvel in Phase 4 and beyond, the MCU is in for a status-quo setup with the potential arrival of the mutants and the first family in the Fantastic Four.
