LeBron James is the Athlete Cover for NBA 2K19 20th Anniversary Edition

Despite being down 2-0 against the Golden State Warriors nascent dynasty, LeBron James is having a career season in both numbers, performance and the sheer force of will in towing the hapless Cleveland Cavaliers to the 2018 NBA Finals.

NBA 2K, the world’s greatest basketball simulation videogame of this decade and perhaps of all time, will be featuring LeBron James in its cover for the franchise’s 20th edition release.

The last time James was featured in the cover of NBA2K was back in 2014 where he was still a member of the Miami HEAT. After that cover stint, James left Miami to return to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Despite rumors of another Cleveland exit and signing elsewhere, this is the first time that James will be featured as a cover athlete for 2K as a member of the Cavs and it could be the last time as well. This year, 2K18’s cover athlete Kyrie Irving bolted to the Boston Celtics via trade after his cover stint.

For fans of LeBron James, getting this special edition is a no brainer because of the wealth of content involving King James:

  • 100,000 Virtual Currency
  • 50,000 MyTEAM points
  • 20 MyTEAM League Packs
  • 10 MyTEAM Packs
  • 5 LeBron-themed murals for MyCOURT
  • LeBron MyCOURT design
  • King’s Collection – Nike LeBron apparel and 25 pairs of LeBron footwear

The NBA 2K19 20th Anniversary Edition will be releasing September 7, 2018.
